Vision for Olean

Over the last decade we have seen hundreds of jobs leave Olean and our population decline. If we want to be competitive in the next decade we are going need to reverse this trend. We need to get fight to get jobs back to Olean. If elected to the City Council I will work with the mayor and other members of the council to recruit high paying jobs to city so that Olean's current residents living under the poverty line can work their way out of poverty. My plan would also attract new residents to Olean which would expand our economy and grow our tax base.

We have sadly seen a rise in crime across Olean over the past few months. To combat this rise we need well trained police officers on our streets. I will support our police and community activists by working with other members of city government to create a mutually beneficial civilian oversight board. This will give civilians a voice to call out any potential abuses while also ensuring that the Olean Police Dept. always has state of the art equipment and the best training.

Olean's infrastructure is out of date and crumbling. We need to strategically use city, state, and federal funds to fix our roads, bridges, sidewalks, piping, and parks. My experience in budgets and financial planning will make me uniquely qualified to work with the mayor and other members of the council to make sure that Olean's infrastructure is up to date and safe for cars, bikes, strollers, and joggers.

It's important that Olean has affordable housing so we can create population growth and expand our tax base. If elected I will work with the mayor and other members of the city council to make sure that everyone wanting to move to Olean can afford a home and get a good paying job.

If elected to the City Council I will work with all aspects of the city government to make sure that everyone's taxes are fair and affordable. We can't be burdening working class families with high tax rates from the city. I will fight to make sure that everyone's tax rate is fair and affordable for all citizens of Olean.
